One summer Day my Friend John Bennett and I went to a local Computer stall , and he purchased a game called gauntlet, Little did we know that we would spend all day / night trying to complete this great game. The two player maze ‘em ‘up had us hooked for months afterwards we just couldn’t get enough of it. The strategy needed for this game when in two player mode was completely different than other two player games.

We together once also went into the west end to buy some games. We were browsing the shops when I stumbled on some cash on the floor , I didn’t want to pick it up , I told John and before I knew what was going on he took the money and we ran off. We ended up buying a range of games that day (We went really crazy).John brought Law of the west , Nemesis and another (I forget) , I brought Auf Weidersen Monty , and World Games (What a game that turned out to be) , I borrowed nemesis from John and it turned into one of my all time favs.

There are literally 100′s of games that I enjoyed playing on this machine,(I had actually around 450 games for it). Games like Impossible mission , Druid I/II, Palace software games (Barbarian , Cauldron ect) , Commando ( I found this game cassette actually lying in the street!) , Ghostbusters , Head over Heals, Mercenary (I thought Elite was to difficult to get into!) , R_I_S_K ,Platoon (Greatest tie-in ever) , Samurai warrior , Solomon’s Key’s , Stormlord ,Terra Cresta , Slap Fight , Up n Down ,Beachhead II ,Tales of the Arabian Nights (One of the earliest games to have speech!) & Wizball to name but a few.
It was a great time in computer gaming history , As I didn’t have access to demos and utilities , All I could really do was listen to the music that was played during title screens.I got to listen to some amazing music from what I consider excellent composers Martin Galway , Rob Hubbard , Tim Follin , Matt Gray , Ben Daglish , John Dunn , Fred Gray , Chris Heulsbeck , David Whittaker.
